Completing Required Lab Work for HCG Treatment
Prior to beginning HCG treatment, certain laboratory tests need to be performed to make sure you are in acceptable condition to start treatment. These tests may be repeated at the end of your first course to ensure you are not experiencing any adverse effects and are instead benefiting from the treatment. If you live locally, you can have the blood draw competed at our office. If you live outside the area, we can arrange for you to have a draw at one of our affiliated labs.
In general, women must have a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Lipid Panel, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Free T3, and Free T4 must be completed. Men will generally need the same tests as women as well as a Total Testosterone and Total PSA. If you have had these lab tests completed in the last few months and have the reports, those results may be suitable to begin treatment.
Lab work arranged by our office is available at a large discount for HCG treatment participants. Should you choose to have these labs ordered by another practitioner and run through your insurance, you can expect to pay a much higher amount unless you have met you deductible. Comparing our office’s price for the required tests with the local hospital’s rate for insurance billing revealed a savings of over $300!
